Third day of Spring Break - 3-31-10

Today was a work day for Jeff and chore day for us. The mean mom that I am, I made the kids help me with Grocery Shopping and then made them help me make cookies and then made them take some to Jeff at work and then made them take a tour of the hospital and then made them go the school playground to play and then made Jared have a sleepover. They had a horrible day and will never forgive me! (LOL) 

What really happened.

 The kids did awesome at the store actually helped without being asked. They unloaded the car and helped unpack. They are the best kids EVER! So I made cookies to say thank-you and we ended up, with Jared's friend Kyle, taking the cookies to the ED and Jeff, where he gave the kids a tour, which they loved doing. Made them feel like they got to do something nobody else did.(Thank-you for letting us intrude!) And because it was such a beautiful day I talked the kids into going to the playground where Jared and Kyle decided to have a sleepover.

Not a day at the beach but I think an OK day.

Second Day of Spring Break - 3-30-10

Today Jeff had the day off with us and we went to see How to Train Your Dragon. It was a cool movie, the kids enjoyed it and Jeff didn't fall asleep (LOL).

After the movie we went to Red Robin for a massive burger - YUMMMM!

To finish the day we cooked Hot Dogs over a fire and made S'mores and watched the stars come out.

Best of all the kids are on the mend!

First Day of Spring Break - 3-29-10

The kids have been sick on and off for 3 weeks, so after a trip to the doctor we decided to spend some time outside. Jared spent some time playing soccer with his Dad.

Syd decided she just wanted to lay down. She choose the top of her Dad's car, which couldn't have been that comfortable, but she looked awfully pretty!

Not a great start to a Spring vacation but a great start to getting better.

Kids vs. Teachers Basketball game. 3-24-10

Every year the kids' school has a Kids vs. Teachers Basketball game and this year Jared was willing to participate. Jared got to play against his teacher and had a blast doing it.

Syd helped with the pep band and she enjoyed cheering for her big bro.

Literacy Night at school - 3-18-10

Tonight we went to Literacy Night at school and the kids got to show some of the projects they have been working on.

Jared has been working on a Hoagy Carmichael project. He had to do a report, 2 projects, a Powerpoint presentation with audio and an oral presentation. We got to see the Powerpoint, the report and the project. We think he did and awesome job. 

Sydney worked on a Skippy Jon Jones skit, a little Clara Barton Booklet and a story about her 8th birthday. She did an awesome job too!

They make us so proud!

St. Patrick's Day - 3-17-10

St. Patrick's Day was pretty quiet around here this year. Sydney is just getting better from a nasty cold and Jared is just getting sick.

Sydney decided she still wanted to try and catch a Leprechaun, so she set up a trap.

Sydney even wore her lucky Leprechaun socks to see if we could get him, but we didn't catch him this year!

So we made some Shamrock sugar cookies, rainbow cupcakes, green jello and green pudding. We made Stew and Dumplings for dinner and called it good after dosing everyone with cold medicine. Hope everyone had a fun St. Patty's Day! 

Basketball Championship Game - 3-13-10

Jared's team played in the 3rd/4th Grade Basketball Championship game and we lost by 1 point. The boys played really well and Jared had a blast playing against his buddy Kyle. 2nd place ain't a bad place to be when you thought you weren't going to do well at all!

I didn't get a good picture of J with his trophy or his team - I chose the wrong spot to take pictures from. Next time, I'll know better.

Jared's Basketball Tournament 3-8-10

OH MY GOSH!

The boys actually won their playoff game and they are headed to the Championship game on Saturday. The boys played well and just kept trying. Their final game will played on Saturday morning against the Blue Devils. Jared has to play against his best friend Kyle, which will be cool because either way they both did awesome!

Jared's Basketball Tournament 3-6-10

Jared's team played their first game of the tournament this morning and fortunately it will not be our last game. The boys were able to win their game 24-21. Go Dawgs! Our next game is Monday night and we will need a whole heck of a lot of luck to win that one. But one can hope, right!
