May 30th, 2011 - Memorial Day

After dropping Syd off with friends to go swimming, and picking Jared up from his sleepover, and Jeff getting off of work, we got together to swim and have fun with our family friends again. What a blessing they are!

May 29th, 2011 - Swimming!

It's finally warm enough to go swimming! Yay! Syd and I went to spend time with family friends swimming in their pool, Jared was at a sleepover with his buddies and Jeff was working. Hopefully tomorrow we can all do something together!

May 28th, 2011 - Strawberry Pickin'

Today we went to on our yearly trip to pick strawberries and have some ice-cream. I think we spent more time eating the ice cream than picking the strawberries.

But we had fun trying to find the most perfect strawberry and taste testing on the spot!

May 27th, 2011 - Field Day

Kids had their school Field Day today and it was a cold day for it. I don't think it ever got above 50 degrees and a lot of the stations involved water so some of the kids were frozen. Other kids, like ours,  were just fine and having a blast. Beats a day of learnin' any day!

May 24th, 2011 - Honor Reader Celebration

The kids went to the Honor Reader Celebration this afternoon. They got 30 minutes extra recess and a non-diary ice-cream treat. I didn't get to take any worthwhile pictures but I wanted to let the kids know how super proud we are of them.

My English Rose out back is in full bloom so I thought I would take a picture of it before I cut it.

While I was at it I thought I would look for other pretty flowers and found these in my neighbors yard.

May 21st, 2011 - Syd plays with Jared on his team!!

Jared's coach was very gracious and let Syd play in Jared's game because they were down a few kids. She held her own pretty good and helped them win the game.

May 21st, 2011 - Jared's 6th Soccer Game

Even though Jared had just finished his 5k he still wanted to play in his soccer match. He looked a little tired but he did awesome, he even scored a goal and he took a turn playing goalie. They won their game 3-0.

May 21st, 2011 - Sydney's 6th Soccer Game.

Syd played her sixth soccer game today. The team was missing a few members but they still did an awesome job. This is the first game they lost this season, 2-3 but it didn't faze them at all.

Sydney decided that she did not want to miss her soccer game, so Syd and I tied our timing chips to the boys shoes so they could turn them in and off we went to soccer.

The Boys did an awesome job!

Very proud of them.

May 17th, 2011 - Jared's Soccer Picture

Jared's soccer team took their 'official' pictures tonight and the photographer was OK with me taking pictures with her. Kids had some pretty great smiles going on even though it was raining and about 48 degrees out!

May 15th, 2011 - Air Show

We went to the Air Show yesterday knowing that they would probably cancel it, but we had hopes and were praying that they wouldn't. Long story short, they canceled it because the cloud ceiling was too low they needed 1000ft, they only had 600ft. Oh well! We had fun being together anyway. We got to see some of the static displays and got some good exercise walking the length of the runway a couple of times.

May 14th, 2011 - The rest of Saturday

The yard needed doing when we got home and the kids volunteered to help mow, weed and trim. They were such a good help, made my job so much easier.

After we got done the Blue Angels were flying in the sky so we watched them for awhile. One of the jets flew right over our heads ....so Cool!

The kids then decided to play soccer until it rained.

They are a lot of fun to be around, I just love them.

May 14th, 2011 - Soccer Picnic

After the soccer game, we stopped by the picnic the league was putting on. We got to eat hot dogs, chips and ccokies and have a drink. The kids got to play in bounce houses and get tattoos. They had a lot of fun. 

May 14th, 2011 - Jared's 5th Soccer Game

Jared had a 'Joga Bonito' (The Beautiful Game) moment in his soccer game today.

He got the ball, took it up the side, passing all interceptors and maintaining the ball. Got to within striking range and kicked for a goal. The ball went right between the side of the goal and the goalie without an inch to spare!

GO Jared! The team lost 3-2 but they are getting better all the time.

May 14th, 2011 - Sydney's 5th Soccer Game

Just call her Sydney the Defender!

Syd helped save a whole bunch of goals today to help the team win 3-1.

May 13th, 2011 - Blue Angels

It's time for the Airshow to come to town and the Blue Angels have been practicing the last couple of days. I just love how they sound! They have been flying pretty close to the house and I actually got a couple of pictures of them while I was waiting for the kids at school. I'm just hoping the show doesn't get rained out again this year.

     

May 12th, 2011 - World Percussion Concert

Sydney has been busy all school year learning her part for the Concert and tonight was the big night. Jared decided to join too, but he was only able to join mid year because of Choir. The music teacher did an awesome job getting 75 kids to participate and work together to pull off an awesome concert.

May 7th, 2011 - Jared's 4th Soccer Game

Jared played an awesome game! We just couldn't pull out a win today. Maybe it was the rain?

May 7th, 2011 - Sydney's 4th Soccer Game

Sydney's team played their 4th soccer game in the rain. They did an awesome job! The game was a tie at 3-3! Syd still looks forward to playing soccer every week! Wahoo.

May 3rd, 2011 - Up and Running

For the last 5 weeks, every Tuesday and Thursday after school, we have been walking/ jogging/running with the school to participate in the Geist 5k. Jeff, J and Syd are doing great! As for me I might end up on the little golf cart being driven to the finish line! LOL.
