Jared's 2nd Soccer Game - Brazil vs. England 4-24-2010

Jared played against England today and he got his first goal of the season which was really amazing. The kids they were up against were huge and a little bit intimidating but J got right in there and was not afraid.
He just loves to play soccer and would do it everyday if he could. Our team did not win this week but the kids really work well as a team.

Sydney's 2nd Soccer Game - Scotland vs. Australia 4-24-2010

Sydney is learning quickly that you have to get into the game and fight for the ball sometimes. She is not afraid to do a little bit of shoving and pushing to get the ball.
GO Sydney!
Her team did not win, but they are getting better!
This picture should tell you how cold and rainy it was out on the field. We had fun and stayed warm cheering them on.

Sydney's 3rd Grade Music Program 4-20-2010

Sydney participated in the schools 3rd Grade music program and she and her classmates did a good job. I believe the program was called We Celebrate the Earth. It was songs and musical instruments to tell us to take care of the earth.

Picture of Pear Tree Blossom 4-20-2010

I just like this picture of a Pear Tree Blossom outside of Syd's bedroom window.

Putt-Putt at Ben and Ari's 4-19-2010

We took the kids to Ben and Ari's to play Putt Putt and Arcade games for their unused snow day. Jeff won again, I think he cheats (lol). It was fun to be together and to be outside in the sun.

Something new 4-18-2010

The kids don't have school tomorrow so we thought we would take a drive to the reservoir and take a walk across the bridge at sunset. The sunset was pretty and there was tons of wildlife to look at, the Herons being our favorites.
After such a rigorous walk (haha) we went to DQ for a treat - probably the kids favorite part of the entire night!.

After the games, visit to the firehouse 4-17-2010

After the kids finished with their soccer games we went to the firehouse to visit with Jeffery as he wasn't able to make it to the fields. The kids told him all about their games and then they wanted to go outside and play soccer some more.
Jared was working on his soccer tricks - I forget what he called it but it looked pretty cool. And Sydney played model for me. I only wish I had a 1/4 of the hair she has!

Jared's first Soccer game of the season 4-17-2010

Jared played his first game of the soccer season this morning and he did an awesome job. We didn't score any goals and we didn't have our uniforms yet but the kids were having fun and playing hard.
Jared actually took a turn at Goalie and there were 5 attempts at goals but he didn't let any in. We didn't win, but it was a good start.

Sydney's first Soccer game 4-17-2010

Sydney played her first ever soccer game this morning and she did awesome. There will be a learning curve but she picks things up really fast and she's not afraid to get in there and fight for the ball. Sydney is on the Scotland team and they played Ireland this morning. They did not win their game, but they are learning.

Ultimate Frisbee - 4-14-10

Jared joined the Ulimate Frisbee club at school. So far all I have been told is that it's a lot of fun.
I went to pick him up early so that I could see what it was for myself and it does look like it's a lot of fun.

Lizzy's Birthday Walk - 4-11-10

We promised Lizzy a walk in the park for her 5th birthday.
The kids got the side benefit of playing in the creek while it's so warm and I got the benefit of taking some pictures while the sun was setting.

Easter 4-4-10

Happy Easter!
We had a little easter egg hunt for the kids at the house and then we went to Jeff's Dad's house where the kids got to hunt eggs again and play with all their cousins and extended family. It's always fun to see everyone.

Day before Easter 4-3-10

Today was a day to play, bake, dye eggs for Easter and apparently ignore all of the afore mentioned things so that the Butler v. Duke basketball game can be watched very closely and, apparently realizing that yelling at the TVdoesn't actually accomplish anything. (LOL)
Anyway we did manage to pull the boys away from the TV to dye some eggs, after the game was done ofcourse and I got my baking done was all was good.

Fifth Day of Spring Break - 4-2-10

I think we did too much yesterday while the kids bodies were still on the mend. Sydney didn't wake-up until after noon and Jared actually took a 3 hour nap.
So we went to Brookschool Park to get some fresh air and finished up with Ice-cream from Dairy queen. Not an exciting day, but the kids needed the rest I guess?

Fourth Day of Spring Break - 4-1-10

Our day started out with pancakes, bacon and eggs for breakfast with a pancake fight with the left over pancake. Always fun listening to the sound a piece of pancake makes when it hits someones skin! (LOL)
Then we went to Snapperz with Jared's friend, Kyle.
The kids bounced, jumped, slid, rode in bumper cars, jumped on a trampoline, climbed up a climbing wall and played games.
After they were good and sweaty we took them home to cool off and get some lunch.
After a mere 30 minutes we got the dog and went to Ft. Ben to play and go for a short hike.
The kids climbed hills, looked for fish, carried huge rocks, found a dead snake, skipped stones on the water and played on the tire swings.
For the kids they were invited back to Kyle's house for a cookout where they continued to play, for us old folks - time to take a break before the kids come back for more!
