March 20th, 2012 - Playing B-Ball outside

Beautiful evening tonight.

We actually all made it outside to play basketball together. The kids and Jeff played knock out, it was so much fun to watch.

March 17th, 2012 - Jared's Championship Game

Jared played in his third consecutive basketball championship game today and for the third consecutive year we won second place.

There were some tears but mostly everyone was happy that we got as far as we did. Nobody expected to be at the championships.

Jared played an awesome game, did some awesome D.

We are super proud of him!

March 14th, 2012 - Jared's last playoff basketball game

What an awesome game! Game started out with Jared getting the jump ball.

We were keeping pace with the other team but we were always a couple of points behind.

It was almost the end of the 3rd quarter and Jared found an opportunity turn the game around.

He caused a possession change which lead to one of his teammates making a bucket, which caused the game to be tied up. Go Jared!

In the end we were up 23-20 with 30 seconds to go.

They made a shot with 10 seconds to go putting the score at 23-22. 

2 seconds to go they have the ball we are holding our breaths, time runs out, we win!

Go Boilers!!!!

On to the championship game we go!

March 10th, 2012 - Being outside

Gorgeous day today! Kids spending time oustside, so I thought I'd capture them playing B-Ball outside.

March 10th, 2012 - Jared's 2nd ound of playoffs for Basketball

Today Jared played against the 'Hoosiers' who beat us the first time we played them. For the first half they dominated, beating us 24-16 at half-time.

The second half Jared was a beast on the court getting rebounds, blocking out, taking a few shots stealing the ball and just playing some good basketball. The rest of Jared's team seemed to get a boost too, actually making baskets most of the time when a shot was taken. By the end of regular play we were tied 27-27.

So on to overtime. we had 3 minutes to win the game, or lose it (lol). We got a couple of 2 pointers and we fouled the other team a couple of times giving them chance to catch up. Fortunately for us they missed a free throw shot making the score 31-30. 5 seconds to go they have the ball, they take a shot, we all hold our breaths..........they missed the shot putting us in the final four!

March 8th, 2012 - In search of Aurora Borealis

Well I didn't find an Aurora's but Jupiter, Venus, Mars and the Moon were lighting up the sky just wonderfully.

March 7th, 2012 - Jared's 1st Basketball Playoff Game

Jared played his first playoff game tonight against the Red Hawks. In the first quarter we were ahead by 6. Second quarter we were ahead by 2. Third quarter we were ahead by 10. Fourth quarter, oh my gosh, the other team caught up to us and tied us until the last 30 seconds when we pulled ahead by 2. The last 30 seconds took forever to play with all the time-outs and fouls, but the game changed when Jared intercepted the ball. We ended up winning 26-24. So we live to see another basketball game.

March 6th, 2012 - Playing in the Sun

Playing outside in the beautiful spring weather.

March 3rd, 2012 - Sydney's Basketball Championship game

Sydney's team made it all the way to the championship game! Go Sydney! She did an awesome job blocking and setting picks.

 

The girls came away with a win! 12-10.

 Sydney is a basketball CHAMPION!

March 3rd, 2012 - Sydney's 2nd playoff game

Syd's second playoff game was super exciting! We were winning then losing we were able to pull off a win in the end 16-15. It was so close. The team is really excited to be heading to the Minor league Championship game.

March 3rd, 2012 - Syd's first playoff game

It's Super Saturday basketball for Syd today. We have playoff games until we lose or end up at the championship game. The first game was a super close game. The girls managed to pull off a win in the end 15-13, but the other team was really good.

Today Jared played his last regular season game against the Tigers. We lost 22-32, but we gave it a good try!
