So after a day at the pool we went to see if , in the rain, the city would set of their firework show. 
We parked in the drive thru lane of a bank that was close to them and at 10pm sharp, off went the first firework and it lasted for 45 minutes. It was impressive. My photography skill however were not. 
I spent most of the time shivering in the car, it didn't feel like July at all! 
But the kids loved every minute of the fireworks.
